Vultr, comparedThirty regions, one company, one jurisdiction that matters.

Vultr’s region count is its best feature and the source of the most common misunderstanding about it. Placing a server in Frankfurt does not make the company holding it German.

What they are genuinely good at

  • Region count and reach that nothing on this page approaches, which is decisive for latency-bound work.
  • Good bare metal and GPU availability alongside the virtual machines.
  • A mature API and hourly billing that make disposable infrastructure easy.

What we publish that most do not

  • Every price, including bare metal, GPU by the second and colocation.
  • A signed warrant canary, a quarterly transparency report and the inventory of records that exist.
  • Mitigation on before an attack starts, and an SLA that credits itself from the incident record.

Where the server sits, and who is asked about it

A complaint about content is addressed to the company that provides the service, not to the building. With a US provider that is a US company under US process, whichever of its thirty regions the disk happens to be in.

That is why the structure here is eight companies rather than eight buildings. Each region is a separate legal entity on its own country’s register, so the country in the region name is also the country whose court has to be persuaded.

Identity, and the fraud check

Signup requires a real payment method and orders are held for review. Here the account is an address and a password, funded from a crypto balance, and there is no review because there is nothing to review.

What they do better

Regions, hourly elasticity, and the surrounding ecosystem. We have eight regions and are not going to have thirty. Saying so is more useful than a comparison that pretends the count does not matter.

Questions people actually ask

Does choosing a European Vultr region help?

For latency, entirely. For a takedown, the provider is still the party addressed. That is the distinction the whole page is about.

Do you bill hourly?

GPU is billed by the second. Everything else is monthly from a balance, with no card on file and no minimum term — the price list has all of it.

Buy theirs instead if

  • You need a specific city out of thirty and latency is the deciding number.
  • The workload is ordinary and the compliance posture is irrelevant to it.
  • You want to spin capacity up and down by the hour across many regions at once.

That list is here because a comparison that cannot name a reason to buy the other one is an advertisement. If any of those three is you, they are the better buy and this page has done its job.
