Hetzner, comparedHetzner is better hardware for the money. It is also German.

Nothing on this page is going to argue that Hetzner is bad value, because it is the best in Europe and probably the world. People arrive at a page like this for one of two reasons, and neither of them is price.

What they are genuinely good at

  • Price to hardware, which nothing in this market beats. A dedicated auction machine there costs less than a virtual one almost anywhere.
  • Serious engineering: excellent network, a real API, storage boxes, load balancers and a console that works.
  • Scale and stability, with data centres it owns rather than rents.

What we publish that most do not

  • Every price, including bare metal, GPU by the second and colocation.
  • A signed warrant canary, a quarterly transparency report and the inventory of records that exist.
  • Mitigation on before an attack starts, and an SLA that credits itself from the incident record.

The two reasons people look for an alternative

The first is the signup. Hetzner is a German company and verifies its customers; accounts are asked for identity documents, and payment is by card or transfer. That is a lawful, ordinary way to run a business and it is a wall if you cannot be an identified customer.

The second is what happens after a complaint. A German company answers German process and responds to abuse reports through a compliance function whose job is to reduce risk to Hetzner. That is not a criticism — it is the correct behaviour for that business, and it is exactly the behaviour somebody who has just been suspended is trying to get away from.

What we do not attempt to match

Their price on dedicated hardware, their auction market, their storage boxes and the breadth of their API. If those are what you need, this page has told you to buy from them and it means it.

What is here instead: no identity at any spend level, eight crypto assets and nothing else, eight jurisdictions each held by its own company, and a takedown process that starts with a judge. Those are the product.

Germany is a jurisdiction, not a neutral place

German law is not American law, so a DMCA notice has no direct force there. It is also one of the more active European jurisdictions for content complaints, with a well-developed practice of writing to hosting providers. "Not American" and "hard to compel" are different claims, and the guide sets out which countries are which.

Questions people actually ask

Is this cheaper than Hetzner?

No, and a comparison page claiming otherwise would be checkable in thirty seconds. Every price we charge is on the price list; put it beside theirs and the difference is the jurisdiction and the anonymity.

Can I pay Hetzner in crypto?

Not as a published payment method, which is what the row says. Here it is the only way to pay, and Monero is among the eight.

My server was suspended over a complaint. What is different here?

A complaint is read and answered, and forwarded to you in full with the complainant named. Content comes down on an order from a court with jurisdiction over the company that hosts it, and on nothing else. Every notice received is counted and published quarterly.

Buy theirs instead if

  • You want the most compute per euro available anywhere and your content will never attract a complaint.
  • You need their ecosystem — the API, the storage boxes, the auction market for cheap dedicated hardware.
  • Being an identified customer with an invoice is fine, or actively what you need.

That list is here because a comparison that cannot name a reason to buy the other one is an advertisement. If any of those three is you, they are the better buy and this page has done its job.
