BuyVM offers DDoS filtering, and it works. It is structured the way most of this industry structures it: a protected address is something you add to the order.
This estate does it the other way round. Mitigation is on at every edge, on every product, at no extra charge, and there is no per-attack fee and no protected-IP tier. That is not generosity; it is that an attack arrives before you have time to buy anything, and a mitigation you have to enable is a mitigation that is off when it is needed.
BuyVM publishes Luxembourg and United States locations. The Luxembourg estate is genuinely outside the reach of a US takedown notice. The US one is not, and cannot be, whatever any host’s policy says — a company with US operations answers a US subpoena.
If your content is ordinary, that is a non-issue and the price wins. If your content attracts complaints, the choice of building matters more than the choice of host, and every one of this estate’s eight regions is outside United States jurisdiction with a separate company behind it.
We are more expensive on a like-for-like virtual machine and it would be silly to claim otherwise. What the difference buys is the published side: an SLA that credits automatically, a quarterly transparency report, a signed canary, mitigation already on, and a path from a virtual machine to bare metal, GPU or a rack without changing supplier.
If none of those are worth a few dollars a month to you, BuyVM is a better buy and this page has done its job by saying so.
On virtual machines and storage, generally yes. We are not competing on that number and a comparison page that claimed otherwise would be checkable in thirty seconds.
Not as a rule, but orders can be held for fraud review, which is why the row above reads “partly” rather than yes. This estate never asks at any spend level, which is a policy rather than a default.
