Every price on this estate is the price. No setup fee, no minimum term and no first-month discount that doubles in the second.
How it gets there
No ticket, no identity documents, no call. The image list is on the configurator itself, one field below the plan, and a virtual machine is live in about fifty-five seconds.
Two reasons, and neither is performance. The first is that a supplier told you to: a great deal of commercial software is certified against Enterprise Linux and against nothing else, and support conversations go badly when you are on something adjacent.
The second is the lifecycle. Ten years is long enough that a machine built today outlives most of the reasons it was built, and for infrastructure nobody wants to revisit, that is the whole argument.
Technically, they are equivalent, and anybody claiming a meaningful performance difference is selling something. Both are RHEL rebuilds, both are free, both track the same upstream.
The difference is governance. AlmaLinux is run by a foundation with a broad board and has moved towards ABI compatibility rather than strict binary rebuilds. Rocky is closer to the original CentOS model. Pick on which of those two you would rather depend on in 2033, because that is the real question.
If cPanel or Plesk is part of the plan, this is the image to start from. cPanel is an Enterprise Linux product and installing it anywhere else is a project rather than a step. The free panels — CyberPanel, HestiaCP, Webmin, CloudPanel, aaPanel — run here too, and they have no licence server that can stop answering.

If it says "RHEL 9 or compatible", yes. If a vendor requires a genuine Red Hat subscription for support, no rebuild solves that.
