Every price above is the matching Linux instance plus the licence and nothing else — four dollars at two cores rising to fifteen at sixteen, which is how Microsoft bills it. The arithmetic is there to be checked. Elsewhere is the cheapest no-KYC remote desktop we found at that memory level; above 16 GB nobody in that set publishes a figure at all, so nothing is shown against those rows.

About the four-dollar remote desktops
They exist, they are cheaper than this, and it is worth knowing exactly what makes them cheaper before you buy one.
What the cheap tier is actually selling
A licence that lapses is not a saving.
Windows costs the host money, so a desktop advertised at four dollars is recovering it somewhere: a key Microsoft would not recognise, forty tenants on one machine, or a first-month rate that doubles on renewal. Usually two of the three. We would rather charge the licence openly and have the machine still be there in a year.
Compare against the Linux prices- No grey-market key Licensed through Microsoft’s provider programme. It will not deactivate on you.
- No shared session A machine of your own, with the Administrator password. Not a user on somebody else’s desktop.
- No renewal increase Month twelve costs what month one cost. There is no introductory rate here to expire.

RDP 2
A desktop to reach from anywhere: a browser, a mail client, one application that has to be on Windows.
RDP 4 – 8

The platform
The same hardware, running a different operating system.
There is no separate, older fleet for the Windows customers. A remote desktop lands on the identical EPYC nodes and the identical NVMe array as everything else we sell — it simply arrives with a licence on it.

Windows Server 2025Server editions carry the licence in the price. The two desktop editions are marked BYOL because Microsoft does not permit them on shared hardware — those run on a dedicated machine with a licence you hold, which we will happily arrange rather than sell you something that stops activating.

Before you connect.
Is the Windows licence really included, and is it legitimate?
Included in the price, and licensed through Microsoft's provider programme, which is the arrangement hosting companies are meant to use. It will not deactivate, it will not nag, and you will never be asked to supply a key. If you would rather bring your own licence we can do that instead on dedicated hardware — Microsoft does not permit it on shared machines.
Do I get real Administrator access?
Yes, on a machine that is yours alone. This is not a shared desktop with a user account on it: you get the box, the Administrator password and the ability to install, configure and break whatever you like. Rebuild it from the panel when you do.
Can I run Windows 11 rather than Windows Server?
Only with your own licence and only on dedicated hardware, because that is the limit Microsoft sets. Say so when you order and we will arrange it on a bare-metal machine. On the shared plans it is Windows Server, which for almost every purpose behaves the same and is licensed properly.
How many people can be signed in at once?
Two administrative sessions are included, which is what Windows Server allows without extra licensing. More than that needs Remote Desktop Services CALs — we can licence those per user per month, at cost. We will tell you the figure before you commit rather than after.
How fast is it actually available?
Provisioning starts at the first network confirmation of your payment. A Windows image takes about two minutes to lay down and configure, against fifty-five seconds for Linux, and the credentials appear in the panel the moment it is ready.
Why is it cheaper than the RDP shops but dearer than the $4 ones?
Dearer, because the $4 tier is a promotional rate on a heavily oversold machine and the licence behind it is often not one Microsoft would recognise. Cheaper than the no-KYC RDP shops, because every price here is simply the matching Linux instance plus the licence — $4 at two cores, $15 at sixteen.
